Associate Director of Social Impact, Braze, BrazeTL;DR
The Braze ERG Grant Program has given away $360,000 since September 2025 and more than $1.2 million over the past four years. These grants have helped local organizations around the world as they work to advance health and education, fight discrimination, protect the environment, and more.
Key takeaways
- The Braze ERG Grant Program takes place in coordination with 12 Braze employee resource groups (ERGs), including Black@Braze, Muslims@Braze, and Pride@Braze.
- In year 4 of the program, Braze provided financial support to 43 unique nonprofits around the world.
- The Braze ERG Grant Program makes unrestricted grants through the Braze for Social Impact Fund at the Tides Foundation, allowing different employee resource groups to identify and help meet needs in their communities.
In its fourth year, the Braze ERG Grant Program reached a significant milestone: Surpassing $1M in total lifetime giving. This achievement is a testament to the thoughtful contributions our employee resource groups (ERGs) have made to the global community since the program’s inception.
Since September 2025 alone, our 12 ERGs have awarded $360,000 in unrestricted grants through the Braze for Social Impact Fund at the Tides Foundation, supporting 43 unique nonprofits around the world. To date, our ERGs have directed a total of $1.24 million in charitable grants through this program, reinforcing the connection between our team’s values and real-world impact.
The nonprofits they've chosen reflect what our teams care about most—advancing health and education, fighting discrimination, protecting the environment, and more. Every grant is grounded in lived experience, turning shared values into support for organizations on the front lines of change.
How does Braze support nonprofit grantees beyond financial funding?
Our goal for year four was to find ways to turn contributions into community. By fostering deeper ties between ERG members and their grantees, we’re aiming to create an impact that lasts long after the initial grant is awarded.
Volunteering: Green Team and Asians@Braze went hands-on for their grantees. Members restored local ecosystems alongside the Billion Oyster Project and Thames21, and hand-delivered meals to elderly community members with Heart of Dinner.
"It was rewarding to hand deliver food and groceries to the elders in our community. We were able to see how much work and coordination goes into providing these services to groups that are so often forgotten or overlooked. For some, this is their only interaction with another person all week and it was such a joy to see their faces light up. I'm grateful to have had this experience through Braze and the Asians@Braze ERG, where our values don't just live on a page—they show up in the community."

Madeline Lo
Sr. Customer Success Manager, Enterprise & Asians@Braze ERG Member, Braze- Awareness & Learning: Jews@Braze and SOMOS invited grantees to lead internal speaker events, bringing outside perspectives directly to Braze employees. Highlights included the Mark Schonwetter Holocaust speaker event and a virtual lunch & learn with Latinos Progresando.
Our ERGs also recognized that many nonprofits are navigating a perfect storm right now—rising community needs colliding with widespread funding cuts. Rather than look the other way, several teams launched independent fundraisers to go beyond their base grants. The result? An additional $10,168 raised and counting. When Braze employees rally behind a cause, the impact compounds.

Final thoughts
At the heart of our mission is the belief that impactful change is most meaningful when it’s driven by our people. We take pride in an employee-led social impact strategy where every team member is invited to take their seat at the table and positively influence their communities. By keeping this strategy in the hands of our employees, we ensure our efforts remain authentic and grassroots, empowering everyone to support the causes that matter most to them.
This collective, people-first approach is what truly defines our social impact work and fuels our ERG programs. These grants don't start the work—they help sustain and strengthen it. And as our ERGs continue to volunteer, learn, and fundraise alongside their grantees, that support grows into something more: A reflection of who we are and what we believe is worth fighting for.
