In June, Braze celebrated its sixth annual tradition of bringing employees together to give back to our local communities. For the first time ever, the initiative spanned a full month, creating more opportunities for employees to support causes they care about and give back. What began as Volunteer Week has grown each year, both in its global reach and in the diversity of causes our team supports. To build on that momentum, we expanded the program into a full 30 days of service, reaching more employees and nonprofits than ever before.

This June, 1,000+ Braze employees across 11 countries dedicated over 2,600+ volunteer hours alongside 43 nonprofit organizations around the world. Together, these efforts made a meaningful impact in support of important causes and communities globally.

Across thirty days and dozens of events, employees chose to spend their time with and for their communities, sorting donations, restoring parks, mentoring students, sitting with elderly residents, cleaning up coastlines, and so much more. No two events were alike, and that variety reflects who our employees are and what they care about.

What stayed consistent was the intention people brought. Colleagues who don't usually cross paths found themselves working side by side, connected by something bigger than their day-to-day work. And our nonprofit partners, the ones doing this every day, all year long, had people who showed up ready to contribute, learn, and support their missions.

"Ronald McDonald House was my first job after college, and it shaped me in ways I still carry. Getting Braze employees to go back and volunteer this June, was a reminder of why this month matters so much to me personally and how much a few hours can mean, both for the organizations we support and for ourselves."
—Demetria Montgomery, Technical Recruiter II

Expanding to a full month was also about making sure every employee, including those who are remote, could be a part of the impact. Alongside our long-standing partner Be My Eyes, where employees offer accessibility support to people who are blind or have low vision, this year we introduced CareerVillage and Lemontree to give employees more variety in how they chose to contribute virtually: Answering career questions from students, or connecting people with critical food resources, one conversation at a time.

"The Braze team brought back 612kg of food, the equivalent of 790 emergency meals for people in crisis. They came ready to work, brought real empathy with them, and made a meaningful difference for the people we serve”
