Each month, Braze selects one individual as our Marketer of the Month in order to celebrate the exceptional work being done by members of our Braze Bonfire community. Whether it's providing support for their fellow marketers or going above and beyond by sharing their innovative ideas and strategies, these individuals are making essential contributions to their companies, their users, and the customer engagement space as a whole.

This month, we’re recognizing Dacio Appolinario, CRM Advisor at Tia Health. Tia delivers the highest-quality, most comprehensive healthcare for women with both in-person and virtual solutions. We spoke to Dacio about his background, experience with Braze, and what he’s working on at Tia. Let’s dive in.

Tell us about yourself.

At Tia, I help build and optimize lifecycle journeys, campaigns, and engagement strategies through Braze. A big part of my work involves translating complex challenges into communication flows that feel intuitive, scalable, and human.

Throughout my career, what I’ve always loved most is the intersection between technology and human behavior, understanding how communication, timing, and personalization can create experiences that feel more thoughtful and relevant for people.

I’m also someone who genuinely enjoys learning and community building, so events and networking are things that I really enjoy.

What is your favorite part of your job?

My favorite part of my job is bringing creativity into solving stakeholder pain points and challenges.

In my small home office, I have a whiteboard where I usually start by writing down the pain point first. From there, I begin sketching possible solutions and mapping out the journey visually. Once I have a clear picture in mind, I go back into Braze and start building the Campaign or Canvas draft so we can review and refine it together as a team.

How do you see Braze as a career accelerant?

Braze is constantly innovating and introducing new features that help teams maximize results more efficiently.

I’ve been working across CRM and digital experiences for around 15 years. When I started, many campaigns required a lot more coding and technical setup. Braze makes things much more intuitive, which creates more space for critical thinking and strategy. Now, I can focus on the desired customer experience instead of spending so much time on purely technical tasks.

What has your experience working with the Braze team been like?

I love attending events, and over the past year I’ve participated in Grow with Braze, Forge, and other events where Braze showcased new tools and ideas.

One thing all of these experiences had in common was connection. I attended the events by myself, but the Braze team always made me feel welcomed and helped connect me with people in similar roles and industries.

I’ve also had a great experience with the CX and Support teams. They’ve always been helpful whenever I had questions or wanted an extra pair of eyes reviewing Canvases, Campaigns, or reporting strategies.

Have you ever taken a Braze certification exam?

Yes! I’ve completed five different Braze certifications so far. I think the certifications are a great starting point for users learning the platform, but they’re also an excellent refresher for more experienced users. They really help showcase the full potential of what can be built and optimized within Braze.

Tell us about a time you used Braze to do something creative?

One of the most creative projects I built was a lifecycle education journey designed to run for an entire year. Each month focused on a different educational theme while also introducing and suggesting different services along the way. It became a very large and detailed Canvas involving multiple Segment Filters, Audience Paths, Action Paths, Intelligent Delays, and Liquid personalization layers.

When I presented the final version to my team, I jokingly said: “This isn’t a Canvas, this is a state-of-the-art nurture program.”
