Braze Gives Back: A Season of Impact and Community

Braze Social Impact Team
The holiday season is a time for reflection, gratitude, and generosity. At Braze, we embrace this spirit by coming together as a global team to give back to the communities where we live and work. This past year, we took it a step further with our quarter-long Giving Season, a three month campaign that ran November to January and encouraged the Braze team to volunteer and donate to meaningful causes worldwide.
Every Braze employee, regardless of location, had the opportunity to participate in Giving Season, whether individually or as part of a team, in person or remotely. This year, more than 600 employees volunteered over 800 hours and contributed more than $180,000 in support of over 400 nonprofit organizations. To amplify their impact, we introduced a new hourly volunteer rewards program, allowing employees to earn $15 in donation rewards for every hour volunteered, up to $360 per fiscal year, which they can donate to any nonprofit(s) of their choice. We also doubled our annual donation match from $100 to $200 per employee. Their collective efforts supported organizations addressing food insecurity, homelessness, youth empowerment, and environmental sustainability to name a few.
How We Gave Back
Across the 23 volunteer events organized by local Braze Cares Advocates—employees who lead quarterly volunteer initiatives for their office or remote region—our teams dedicated their time to a variety of initiatives that directly impacted underserved communities. Here’s a look at some of the ways Braze made a difference:
- Addressing homelessness: Employees supported organizations such as Deborah’s Place (Chicago), ECHO (Austin), Lillian Howell Project (Sydney), Sarah’s Circle (Chicago), St. Anthony Foundation (San Francisco), The Aliveness Project (Minneapolis), and Whitechapel Mission (London), providing hygiene kits and essential support services to individuals experiencing homelessness.
- Fighting food insecurity: Teams volunteered at Berliner Tafel (Berlin), Capital Area Food Bank (D.C), Caritas of Austin (Austin), Common Pantry (Chicago), and Hands on Tokyo (Tokyo), ensuring that families had access to nourishing meals during a challenging time of year.
- Empowering youth: Employees worked with Ana si Copiii (Bucharest), Muda Berdaya Bersama Foundation (Jakarta), Peninsula College Fund (San Francisco), Project the Way (Sao Paulo), and Ronald McDonald House Charities of NY (New York), leading creative workshops, providing mentorship, and equipping youth with essential school supplies.
- Caring for the environment: Our team partnered with TreePeople (Los Angeles) to support habitat enhancement.
- Supporting the elderly: Through TOUCH Community Services (Singapore), employees provided companionship and assistance to elderly individuals.
- Enhancing accessibility: With Be My Eyes (remote), volunteers helped visually impaired individuals with everyday tasks.

We are grateful for the dedication of our employees and Braze Cares Partners who made Giving Season such a success. As we step into a new fiscal year, we are reminded that the needs of our communities extend far beyond the holiday season. The challenges our partners work tirelessly to address are ongoing, requiring our continued commitment and action.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to this season of giving. Here’s to creating an even greater impact in the year ahead!
