Culture at Braze

Great Talent Drives Braze Forward—And We’re Steadily Growing Our Team

Since Braze was founded in 2011, growing our teams with great talent has been a top priority. Over the past year, Braze has expanded the business with new offices in Paris and Toronto, increasing the company’s scope to a total of 10 domestic and international locations. Through the IPO and geographical expansion, Braze has added nearly four hundred new faces to the team so that we can continue to deliver best-in-class service and products for our customers.

“As our customer base has grown immensely over the last several years, Braze R&D velocity has increased in tandem, supported by a strong focus on agility and efficiency,” said Bill Magnuson, Cofounder and CEO, Braze. “It’s incredibly exciting to see in practice, and is critical to our success as we forge into the future, grow our teams, and scale our culture.”

Larger macroeconomic conditions have impacted the tech industry this year, and several companies have had to make hard choices—including layoffs and hiring freezes—to respond to difficult times. Through steady growth and tenured leadership, Braze has managed those headwinds while adding 120 new employees in Q1. Braze is currently hiring for many open positions across departments like Sales, Engineering, People, Marketing, and more.

“In times of economic uncertainty, what both employees and candidates crave is stability—and we believe that Braze offers that in spades,” said Lauren Tannehill, VP, Talent Acquisition, Braze. “We provide a supportive and exciting work environment where our people can take their seat at the table and play a large part in the continued growth at Braze.”

The culture at Braze has been globally recognized as industry leading by Great Place To Work®. Last month, Braze ranked #1 on Fortune’s Best Small and Medium Workplaces in New York, marking the second consecutive year that Braze has made the prestigious list. Braze also ranked #5 on both Fortune’s Best Medium Sized Workplaces and Best Workplaces for Millennials in the US lists, and #11 on UK’s Best Workplaces™ for Women.

As we accelerate future growth for our teams, Braze will continue to prioritize its people. To create an environment where each individual feels included and empowered, Braze recently expanded its comprehensive benefits and perks to include mental health, financial planning, and fertility benefits, as well as increased employee 401(k) matching. As part of a process of continuous improvement, we at Braze are always evaluating opportunities to grow the organization and provide the best workplace experience for its people.

“It’s an exciting time to be at Braze,” said Chelsea Johnson, VP, People Operations, Braze. “Our stability and growth has enabled Braze to build inclusive, comprehensive benefits packages for our employees and develop people-focused programs centered around physical, mental, and financial wellbeing.”

With excellent benefits, Braze has created a space where unique talents and perspectives can thrive. The dedication of our employees—collectively living our values of curiosity, inclusivity, and shared humanity—helps make this all possible.
