Braze: A New Name. A New Leadership Position

Today is a very special day for our company.

From the beginning, we have sought to humanize connections between brands and their customers with a foundational bond between people, data, and technology at our core. We’ve always been built around individuals and the data points collected from their behaviors––and our platform has delivered each person seamless, personalized experiences across channels.

The heart and soul of our people–and the bonds we create with one another through teamwork, mutual respect, trust, and partnership–extend beyond our organization. Over the last six years, we have joined with over 400 global clients, celebrated their great successes, and valued growing with them. As a company, we are dedicated to bringing humanity and unity to brand-customer relationships through our work.

Today we are announcing that Appboy will soon be Braze. The word braze means to bond, to unite, or to join with considerable strength. Renaming our company to Braze is a representation of the strong, unwavering connection that our technology creates between people and the brands they love. The name, Braze, is borderless across channel, device, platform and moment in time–signifying the united, cohesive messaging that our intuitive, powerful, and reliable product delivers.

We are also announcing that we have been recognized as a Leader in the Forrester Wave™: Mobile Engagement Automation, Q3 2017 evaluation. In our opinion, the evaluation serves as a definitive moment for the current market and the future of engagement. We’ve built our product and company for an evolving cross-channel landscape with mobile at our vanguard, and the Forrester Wave result is a testament to our sophisticated product capabilities, enterprise-class platform, and overall strategic vision to build personal and humanized connections between brands and customers.

On the heels of our Series D round led by ICONIQ, we are also excited to share that we have added Meritech Capital Partners to our roster of investors. We are proud and humbled by the support we have from the investment community and their belief in our company as the future of the engagement technology industry.

In late fall, Appboy will fully rebrand to Braze. There will be more moments to celebrate this important evolution that will allow us to better serve our market. Thank you to all of the people who have made this possible. We couldn’t be more excited for the future.
