Privacy Amendment 2022 to your existing DPA

Recent years have seen some important updates to data protection laws and regulations across the world. For those valued customers that have partnered with Braze for a number of years, your existing Braze DPA may predate the introduction of these changes. We offer the Privacy Amendment 2022 to incorporate key changes needed for California, the EU and the UK.

This Amendment includes provisions to address the following:

  • the California Consumer Privacy Act 2018, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act 2020 (“CCPA”), which legislation comes into effect on 1 January 2023;

  • the 2021 EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), published by the European Commission to validate transfers of Personal Data from the EU to countries outside the EU without an adequacy finding; and;

  • the UK Addendum, published by UK’s Information Commissioner, that allows transfers from the UK to countries without an adequacy finding to occur relying on a UK Addendum to the SCCs.

If you already have a DPA in place with Braze, you are welcome to either sign the Privacy Amendment 2022 below or sign Braze’s updated DPA that incorporates all these provisions.

In either case, please download the applicable document, complete on the document in block capital letters your company’s full legal name and signatory details, and sign and return it by email to [email protected]. Upon receipt of the validly completed and signed DPA or Privacy Amendment 2022 by Braze at this email address, the DPA or Privacy Amendment 2022 will become legally binding.
