Every year, Appboy holds the LTR conference to turn the spotlight on long-term relationships and the strategies and technologies that make it possible to build and sustain them. On Thursday, April 27, we’ll be holding the third edition of LTR in New York City. This year, we’re going inside the marketing tech stack—what it is, why it’s important, and how to take advantage of it to create people-first marketing campaigns in today’s mobile-first world

But before the big day arrives, we wanted to help out by sharing a list of tips, tricks, and other guidance to help you make the most of LTR 2017. Read up, pack up, and get ready—this is going to be our best LTR yet!

Where’s this all going down?

This year’s LTR is being held at Industria, located in New York City’s West VIllage. The venue is just a short walk from the following train stops:

  • L at 8th Ave
  • A,C, or E at 14th Street
  • 1 or 2 at Christopher Street

Apps to boost the experience

A big city, a big conference—there’s going to be a lot going on this week. Here’s a list of apps that we think will really streamline and enhance your experience surrounding LTR.

Airbnb

Still need to book your stay? While there are hundreds of hotels in NYC,  Airbnb our go-to app for booking affordable accommodations, plus, it’s becoming more and more prominent on employers’ recommended booking services. Even better? Last year’s addition of the “experiences” option makes Airbnb an even more comprehensive booking agent.

Transit

A little nervous about navigating New York’s 24 subway lines and 469 stations? Transit makes finding the right train (or, if you’re feeling ambitious, the right bus, commuter train, ferry, or elevated tram) as easy as opening the app. Get real-time updates on arrivals and departures, service changes, and more, and never worry about missing your stop—Transit uses push notifications to warn you when it’s time to get off.

Lyft

If the subway isn’t exactly your thing, you’ve got plenty of options. Of course there are taxis galore in NYC, but there’s definitely something to be said for the ease and comfort of the ride-sharing experience. Plugging in an address so that the driver knows exactly where to go (especially if you don’t know how to get there), and, of course, the automatic payment can take some of the stress out of moving around the city.

Snapchat

Trust us. If you don’t already have Snapchat, now’s the time to download. We’ve got a few tricks up our sleeve that will make your LTR better if you have the app ready to go.

Exclusive LTR Experiences

At this year’s LTR, expect to learn a lot, share a lot, and have a seriously fun time.  We’ve got a wide range of experiences planned out for you—from art exhibits to whiskey tastings—all bringing creativity, shared experiences, and relationship-building to the forefront.

Jen Lewin

Jen is an award-winning artist known for her interactive, dynamic light and sound installations. At LTR 2017, you’ll get an exclusive look at a installation curated just for this event!

Other Tips

Whether you’re coming from uptown, across the country, or halfway around the world, here are a few tried-and-true tips to ensure you have a great experience at LTR and in the city we call home (or at least HQ).

Bring a portable charger

Even if it’s not THAT portable, just bring one with you to the event. Between all the speakers and the exciting experiences we’ve got planned for the conference, you’ll want to document every moment.  Don’t let your phone’s not-so-reliable battery life stop you from giving your coworkers FOMO. Check out best sellers on Amazon.

Fill up your metrocard

Go ahead and put about $20 on your metrocard if you plan to use the subway. It’s $2.75 per ride, and it’s pretty safe to assume you’ll ride the train 2-4 times in a day. You can always add more to the card if you do a little extra exploring, but this will be a major time-saver over relying on single-ride tickets (plus, those cost 25 cents extra). Pro tip: when you slide the card, the squared edge goes first. Oh, and if you see an empty subway car… just choose a different one. Trust us.

Extending your visit?

Think you might want to stick around for the weekend? Timeout New York has a great running list of events happening in the city. Head to Brooklyn for some insta-worthy foods at Smorgasburg, or catch a show on or off broadway! Looking for some cheap-but-awesome things to do while you’re in the city? The Skint has you covered.

Pack for Spring!

As of now, the weather during LTR 2017 looks like spring! Cloudy, low chances of rain, and temperatures between 59 and 68 degrees fahrenheit (15-20 degrees celsius).

Anything else?

Nope, you’re ready. We can’t wait to see you at LTR 2017 in just a few days.
